Panagbenga 2008

This year's Panagbenga (Flower Festival) in Baguio City, Philippines attracted a record guest count of 1.5 million. How the small mountain city of Baguio was able to accommodate all those tourist is beyond me. But as far as I can gauge, this year's event is definitely a successful one. For one thing, no politicians campaigning in sight! Yes!

The private sector has seen a wider participation in the event, as evidenced by the promotion of products and services. But that's okay in my book, as long as they adhere to standards and guidelines set, and contribute to the event's success.

We stayed at home, though, and watched from the comfort of our home the street dancing on Saturday, and the floats parade on Sunday. We dared venture on Sunday afternoon and visited Burnham Park. Here are some photos of the landscaping contest staged there. Enjoy!
